Cooling systems tests so far had shown little difference between all… - Alex Belits
Cooling systems tests so far had shown little difference between all versions (copper, aluminum, long fins), so likely the easiest model to produce will be put into production, and larger heatsinks should be tested with Opterons before determining if they cam make much of a difference. Just to see how bad things can be, I have done tests with the ambient temperature 33-34C, so again, I am burninated, and the prototype is fine.

In other news, my father discovered that the power supply fan stalled in our router/fax box (Linux, 233MHz Pentium MMX), and it probably happened quite a while ago. The box is in a noisy room, so no one noticed until he climbed on the ladder to repair some pipes, and got close enough to the equipment shelf to see. I have replaced the power supply, and 233MHz relic continued running ipfilter and hylafax.

Wow, and I remember the night the CPU fan failed on one of my boxes.(I'm not too sure if it was the linux box you built, but I definitely knew about it, thanks to the BIOS being set to sound the PC speaker alert.) The only problem was I went through two fans, because apparently cheap fans tend to make a rather sickening noise, as if they're going to fail. Fortunately, the second one worked.

By the way, nice ABI-station icon. ^_^;
