Trogdor in the rack

After yet another rebuild, trogdor prototype is placed in the rack, so I can move everything from mars.illtel.denver.co.us aka es1036.belits.com to it. There are still no rails and brackets, it's just sitting on the shelf.

Four other prototypes are being built by exactly the same specifications.

Looks really cool. I love blue LEDs.

Re: Sweet.

I love blue LEDs.
You'd love them when you have worked for 4 hours in a colo in a cage with 4 racks and 20, no, 30 systems in one and you turn around and you see that LED piercing straight into you with this merciless bright blue light and you lose your balance and you lean forward and try to grap something but instead your fingers slip on a patch cord and you non-instincively release hand brcause you do not want to yank stupid cat5 cable out of the just because you do not have a crimper and cable with you and spares were all used last week and you planned to bring new ones and while thinking of this you fall heads-up into the server only it is out of the rack a bit and there is a metal corner, not really sharp, but you bang your head at it, just a side, but it really hurts, and you suppress desire to bang those bastardous computers with your bare hands, and your pager vibrates again, in the pocket, and you have to call back, and the cluster is still down, and you think it it time to get another job, take a week off, retire, won a lottery, perhaps move.

no blue leds. at least not cobalt-style.

oh please.

Re: Sweet.

Hey, I run those LEDs on reduced current and have a diffuser in front of them -- they aren't that bad on the eyes, and diffuser makes them visible from all angles, what matters much more than brightness.

Oh, and their pattern looks weird because I don't have a logo silkscreened on the panel yet.

I thought it appeared crooked... I'd expect the cells to line up in a grid
