(sorry for the response in English, I think, many English-speaking people wonder about the same thing)

somethingawful.com forums allow users to make their own title pictures/text, just like livejournal userpics, with one addition -- they can also change titles of other users, paying $5 for themselves, $10 for someone else. When someone feels insulted or annoyed, he can buy the "offender" a title with some mockery on it, and it will be displayed on all posts made by that user until the user changes it back, having to pay $5. Those are called "red titles" because usually they are written in large red letters, and the whole thing often gets ridiculous and immature. So, as my way of saying "I am honored that something I said offended you", I add one "red title medal" (one with a blue ribbon and unreadable "title" on it) every time when I get a red title and have to change the title back. Once I have got a red title when I already had a red title from another thread, so I had to invent a "double red title" medal.

Large medal with "30" on it and "Λ" (lambda) on the red ribbon is a "Laocoon medal" that I have "given" to myself for being suspended for 30 days. There was a long thread started with an article where a Linux user imitates a typical biased trade-magazine article about how it's hard to install desktop Linux, by doing the same kind of description of a Windows XP installation process and various troubles, inconsistencies and poor design that he encountered from the Linux user point of view. The article implied that if "technical journalists" think that Linux isn't "ready for desktop", Windows is even worse, and can't be "ready for desktop", either.

A huge number of people who had never seen Linux in their lives (and likely never installed Windows, either) got offended and went out of their way to express how this is horribly unfair, and how Windows is in every imaginable way superior to Linux. I have jumped in, and explained most of the perceived "problems", however it only resulted in a massive amount of trolling, nitpicking and truly idiotic arguments from the Windows zealots side, who at that point just wanted to validate their ignorance and misconceptions. Even though in that thread I was one of the few people who remained civil and wrote something other than trolling and personal insults, a moderator who apparently had a problem with Linux because of his failed participation in the beginning of KDE project, decided to suspend me for 30 days. After 30 days passed, and I have returned to the forums, I have added "Laocoon medal" and a slightly changed quote about Laocoon death from "Aeneid" to my title. Some users got the reference.

Someone may wonder, why do I participate in somethingawful forums if there are so many trolls and idiots there. The problem is, trolls and idiots are everywhere, and somethingawful.com differs from most of the forums by a relatively high percentage of intelligent people, often with a decent sense of humor.
